PUERTO MALDONADO - MADRE DE DIOS RIVER - NATIVE COMMUNITY
SANDOVAL LAKE - JUNGLE TREK - 3 CHIMBADAS LAKE
PUERTO MALDONADO, is one of the places hidden away in the jungle of Madre de Dios, where will find that rivers are the main highways of the jungle, where the weather is hot and where rain is more than welcome as it brings a quiet and comfortable relief from the heat. Here the spoken language is not quechua as in the Andes, but different native dialects, being understood only by the people born in these areas.
On this tour we will visit the beautiful Sandoval Lake, where we may observe lots of animal activity in the trees as in the lake and along the way to it, since part of the way will be on foot through the jungle arriving at the lakeside.
Taking advantage of our jungle visit we will go looking for alligators at night, these reptiles can be very easily seen because of the violet color of their eyes when shined upon by the flashlights.
We will also visit 3 Chimbadas Lake where the fauna is very similar as at Sandoval Lake, less visited, and therefore the species found there are more apt to visit us and let us see them close up.
